Social Studies: America's Past

The fifth grade social studies curriculum focuses on geography and early American history, starting with the Age of Exploration in the late 1400s and finishing with the American Revolution. Students will be using the textbook Social Studies Alive!: America's Past. Students will have hard copies of the text to use in class and will have access to an online version of the text both in school and at home. Letters with individual log-in information for accessing the text online at teachtci.com were sent home in September. The online text is an excellent study tool; the site includes challenges, vocabulary, main ideas, and the option for students to have the text read to them.
